Installation

Installation of erp 6.x from scratch

In this howto, I'll install Stratos ERP into /projects/iseek/test

You may want to review the official drupal install guide http://drupal.org/getting-started/install

Create a database

Start mysql, then enter commands like these, obviously you can use real usernames and passwords.

CREATE USER 'test'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
GRANT USAGE ON * . * TO 'test'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password' WITH MAX_QUERIES_PER_HOUR 0 MAX_CONNECTIONS_PER_HOUR 0 MAX_UPDATES_PER_HOUR 0 MAX_USER_CONNECTIONS 0 ; CREATE DATABASE IF NOT EXISTS `test` ; GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON `test` . * TO 'test'@'localhost';

Setup Drupal codebase

Note that I have my apache setup to use /projects/ as a the virtual host directory, it is commonly be /var/www/html by default.

mkdir /projects/iseek/test
cd /projects/iseek/test<br>

# Get and extract drupal<br> wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drupal-6.15.tar.gz<br> tar --strip 1 -xzvf drupal-6.13.tar.gz<br>

  # Cleanup<br> rm drupal-6.15.tar.gz<br> cd sites/default<br>

# Setup files dir<br> mkdir files<br> sudo chown :www-data files<br> sudo chmod g+w files<br>

# Make our own settings.php<br> cp default.settings.php settings.php<br> sudo chown :www-data settings.php<br> sudo chmod g+w settings.php<br>

In the settings.php, you need to change the db_url line to use your username, password and database from the mysql section above. Then we can download extra required modules

Extra modules download

mkdir modules<br>  # Download modules<br> wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/erp-6.x-1.x-dev.tar.gz<br> wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/quicktabs-6.x-2.0-rc3.tar.gz
wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/views-6.x-2.6.tar.gz<br> wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/print-6.x-1.8.tar.gz<br>

  # Extract modules<br> tar -xzvf erp-6.x-1.x-dev.tar.gz<br> tar -xzvf quicktabs-6.x-2.0-rc3.tar.gz<br> tar -xzvf views-6.x-2.6.tar.gz<br> tar -xzvf print-6.x-1.8.tar.gz<br>

  # Cleanup<br> rm erp-6.x-1.x-dev.tar.gz<br> rm quicktabs-6.x-2.0-rc3.tar.gz<br> rm views-6.x-2.6.tar.gz<br> rm print-6.x-1.8.tar.gz

Setup Stratos ERP install profile

cd /projects/iseek/test/profiles<br> mkdir erp<br> cd erp<br> cp ../../sites/default/modules/erp/erp.profile .

Install Stratos ERP

You can now start installation by visiting the appropriate url, in my case its http://nairne1/iseek/test/install.php

Select ERP as the install type and click "Save and continue".

The installer will check requirements and give an error if there is anything missing, fix any problems until you get through to the Configure site screen.

If you did not configure your settings.php, the installer will prompt for that information on the way.

Fill out the Configure site screen as per normal and click "Save and continue".

Now its time to configure erp settings, put in the information for the fields, I've put some test data in this screenshot. Click "Save and continue".

Stratos ERP core requirements are now setup, including your store, book pages for documentation sections, a test customer, supplier and a single "item" LABOUR.

It is intended that some sample data could be installed here, but thats not yet functional. Click "Save and continue".

Installation is now complete, click on "your new site" to proceed to the site.

This is the default ERP screen after the install profile. Click through to "Using ERP" below for more information.
